BPSOWSFC: Round Two!

     Week two of the Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World Spring Fishing Classic (BPSOWSFC for short, or not) is ready to launch and here is what you need to know about the second weekend of this annual event.

     The Reel Trade-In, a yearly event, ended on the 29^th, but do not despair because there is a new Trade-In event starting Friday!  For the first time ever, from March 2-6, 2012, a Rod Trade-In that will work similarly to the Reel Trade-In; bring in a usable fishing rod and trade it for a price reduction on a new fishing rod.  Price reduction is based on the price of the new rod and a list is below. 

     This is a great program and Bass Pro has had as a Reel Trade-In for many years and now also a Rod Trade-In.  The traded fishing rods will, like the reels, be cleaned up and donated to youth groups right here at home.  I was talking with the Denver Store’s Promotions Coordinator one day when she answered a call from a group in another state looking to take some of the traded reels from the Denver BPS.  Her response was that there are already a lot of great youth organizations here at home that can use these items and that “our” donations will stay here in Colorado.  I think this shows great dedication from our local store to support our local youth organizations.

     So how about a great deal on a rod and reel combo?  There are some great Abu Garcia show specials that can be used at the same time as the Rod Trade-In for an even better deal.

     The other new event this weekend is the vendor booths from the top companies in the fishing industry.  Visit with pro-staff and company representatives and find out the latest on your favorite brands.  Stop by and say ‘Hi’, like ‘Takeakidfishing’ did last weekend (along with the kid herself!)  I will either be in the fishing department or at the Berkley/Abu Garcia/etc. Vendor Booth.  Nice to meet you ‘Takeakidfishing’!
