Not the least of which is the fact that the Rayovac FLW Series Championship
Tournament about to start, but Matt has been a very busy
angler. Between tournaments and filming
for a Television show, he’s landed his own keeper at home! Or, did he get hooked himself?
After having his 2014 season cut short with knee surgery, Matt fished
all three 2015 Central Division Rayovac FLW Series and
is qualified for the Championship Tournament held Oct. 29-31 on the Ohio River
out of Paducah, KY. “I finished 34th in
points in the FLW Rayovac Central Division,” Matt says, with a total of 558 points in the standings. This is Matt’s first full year on the trail
and first time to qualify for the FLW Series Championship Tournament. The Central Division sent their Top 40 qualifying
Pro’s to the Championship event, where the Top Pro from each division, and the
Top 5 in overall standings, will qualify for the 2016 Forrest Wood Cup, the
highest level of all FLW Tournaments.

Meanwhile,
Matt was asked to be a guest on Lunkerville
TV
and met in Denver with the show’s host, Mike D. to fish a local lake and film a
2-part show which is scheduled to air early 2016. “We had an amazing time, catching them on
anything we threw,” Matt says. “I caught
fish on a prototype bait that Ron Mayer from Head Turner Custom Lures is making, a 6” wood rat with a 5”
tail.”

Best of all and definitely a great way to cap off a good season, Matt
says, “I’ve had a great year! I got married September 25th to the
girl of my dreams!” Congrats to Matt and Teresa Massey! The new Team Massey couple honeymooned in
Belize, and yes, there was some time set aside to go fishing.
